Hello Health Equity Ambassador recruits!Through a powerful collaboration, the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, supported by Bank of America, has launched a Collaboration for Equitable Health to advance health outcomes for Black, Hispanic-Latino, Asian American, and Native American individuals.We are excited for you to attend the Health Equity Ambassador training for cancer risk reduction, to amplify the voice of the American Cancer Society in local communities! The goal of the Health Equity Ambassador program is to promote cancer health equity and reduce cancer screening disparities through community outreach and education.As advocates for health equity, we, at the American Cancer Society, know that education is an important piece to obtaining better health outcomes for us all. With education as one of the pillars of the Collaboration for Equitable Health, we will gather community-based and faith-based organizations for a facilitated health equity ambassador training on July 8, 2023, from 9am-1pm at the Urban League of Central Carolinas, 740 West 5th Street, Charlotte, NC 28202. We are excited to have Sharon Allison-Ottey, M.D. onboard to serve as our trainer. She will educate on cancer risk reduction as it relates to colorectal, prostate and breast cancer. Additionally, she will speak about how nutrition and physical activity impact cancer prevention. Dr. Ottey is an award-winning women&#x27;s health advocate, physician and author.
