Charlene Fletcher, Assistant Professor of History Department of History, Anthropology, and Classics, Butler University, will discuss “Club Women - a Seat at the Table: African American Women and the Right to Vote”.The 19th Amendment, passed in 1920, granted voting rights to women in the United States, and Americans often celebrated it as a triumphant victory for women&#x27;s rights. Yet not all women - particularly Black women - could relish the victory.
