About this event
City of Florence, United Way of Lane County, Lane County Public Health (LCPH) Preparedness Program, and the Lane Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) is offering an organizational emergency preparedness training for rural community-based organizations in Lane County. The training will be led by Ana-Marie Jones, a nationally recognized preparedness trainer and consultant from Oakland, California, who has learned about local issues and developed relationships through her previous work in 2009 and 2021 in Lane County.
The training is primarily for rural community-based organizations (CBOs) who serve vulnerable or historically marginalized communities. In times of disaster, it is inherent that these organizations are able to continue serving these populations and carrying out their mission-driven work. Ana-Marie’s training will help them develop the tools and know-how in order to do this. The types of CBOs to be invited include food pantries, community centers, grange halls, faith-based organizations, and basic needs agencies.
