On Saturday, June 10, this day-long celebration of art and community returns to Peirce Mill . Join us in Rock Creek Park for free workshops taught by local artists! Rain Date:  Sunday, June 11.

Ink is a versatile medium that can create both fine details and sweeping washes and stains. In this experimental and experiential workshop, artist Caroline MacKinnon will invite participants to zoom in on tiny things - follow the ridges in a leaf, blades of grass, the craggy texture of a rock - as well as zoom out for a bigger picture - using different wash techniques to capture the sky, clouds, sunlight, treetops and creek. Please note: Workshop participants should wear old clothing—ink can permanently stain fabric. R﻿ain date: Sunday June 11, 12:00 to 1:30pmThis workshop is part of Create by the Creek, a celebration of art and community at Peirce Mill in Rock Creek Park. This free event includes workshops taught by local artists, art supplies to borrow, and a landscape meet-up with the Washington Studio School.Create by the Creek is organized by the Friends of Peirce Mill in partnership with the National Park Service and the Washington Studio School.This project is supported by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
