Chicago Loves Bachata is going BIG again with another series of a 100% Bachata Social on Friday with 2 Bachata Rooms!!! Then on Saturday, Back by popular demand our Traditional/Sensual Bachata Bootcamps!!!

WORKSHOP 1: 12PM TO 3PM
3hr Traditional Bachata Workshops focusing on Caribbean Movement, Musicality, Interpretation and partner work by Juan & Melanie
WORKSHOP 2: 3:30PM-6:30PM 
3hr Bachata Sensual Bootcamp focusing in the connection between partners and the interpretation of the music through the body by Chicago's Own, Nadia “Lady Sith” Alvarado and Chinwuba Okafor from Latin Rhythms Academy of Dance and Performance. In this workshop you can expect to further develop your following and leading skills through isolations, musicality, styling and specialty turns.
Workshops Passes Are Limited Capacity To Ensure An Even Ratio of Leads and Follows AND To Optimize the Learning Experience with An Appropriate Instructor/Student Ratio.
NIGHT PARTY FRIDAY- 10PM TO 3AM 
The night party will consist of an amazing line-up of performances and 2 Rooms of Dancing (A Modern/Sensual Bachata Room with Special Guest DJ  World Class Bachata Producer and Remixer Rudi Lopez (el Tiguere del Mambo) from Island Touch Dance flying in from Florida!!! Joining forces with El Tiguere... our resident DJ Adrian DJ AC Cepeda!
 (A Traditional Bachata Room) With resident DJ Carlos Cinta and special guest DJ Sebastian James Flying in from Denver holding it down for y’all!!

Juan & Melanie’s Biography
Juan Mejia, born in Bayaguana DR, learned the authentic and traditional style of Bachata naturally while dancing in the DR for most of his life.  Today, he is a product of his immense love for Bachata and his desire to continuously improve his dance.  His style is classic, soft, and full of expressions that respect the accents of the music.  You will have the great opportunity to experience and to become infected with this wonderful style.  Juan currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland, where he continues to contribute to the growth of classic Bachata dance with his wife, Melanie.  Melanie, a native German, discovered her love and passion for traditional Bachata when she met Juan.  She is a great follow and has a warm approach to teaching with patience while transmitting her grace and follow skills to everyone in the room. 
Juan and Melanie’s working together has turned them into one of the most sought out couples from the DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) area.  Juan and Melanie have taught together at numerous events, including DCBX, the International San Francisco Bachata Festival, the AfroLatin Vegas Festival, the Baltimore Salsa and Bachata Congress, and at For The Love of Bachata in Pittsburgh, to name a few.  At Juan’s own school 'Bachata Fix RD', originally founded in his hometown in the DR, they now continue teaching weekly classes across the DMV area.  Come and be part of this wonderful culture! Bachata Sensual Bootcamp- Nadia Alvarado & Chinwuba Okafor
Nadia Alvarado is Chicago’s Lady Sith of Bachata. Born in Venezuela and raised in Nicaragua, this sensual bachata guru possesses all the Latin spice you need. She began taking dance lessons and learned all her basics in Montreal, Canada. She was later reunited with dance in 2007 in Indianapolis, IN. She continued her training then, making sure she learned from well known and respected Latin Dance professionals. In 2011, she co-founded Latin Expressions. After 3 years, leaving behind an increasingly successful studio, she moved to Chicago  to continue her dance training. In 2015, she was offered a position at Latin Rhythms as a dance instructor. She has performed and taught Mambo, Cha Cha Cha, Boogaloo and of course Bachata all over the U.S. including several Salsa & Bachata Congresses. Nadia is known for being a light follow and a very musical dancer. She loves to be both elegant and sensual as a fallow; but also enjoys the intricacies of leading. Most of all, she is serious about sharing her knowledge about and love for dance with her students.
