The Quest For Fire: Immersive Human~Nature Connection

Ben Johnson is a Sacred Fire Keeper for healing ceremonies around the UK, as well as festivals, men’s retreats.His work with the fire and the healing ways of the traditions of the Americas with his Apache Scout, Lakota, Wixarica training Informs his work as a mentor, therapist, health coach specialising the healing the emotional brain (The Gut and Immune Sytstem); supporting people in establishing a firm grounding and firm boundaries in the body, in the family, the community and with the earth. Nature Connection work is ultimately about the conversation you are first having with yourself, and then with our bigger body; the earth and the cosmos. This relationship is harmonised when we find our true calling, our true path and our true friends. Straying from this path causes illness, lack of motivation and low level resentment, and finding this path generates health, joy and a deep peace and trust in life and the way we are guided in each day.

A very serious yet cheerful gentleman who sparks the most brilliant conversations, hears all the most epic tales, soothes every soul, toasts every marshmallow without question and lights up everyones faces. Known across the universe, in space and through all time, we creatures are blessed to be gathering around this ancient and mysteries force, from the molten centre of the planet we encircle, to the ball of light in the sky we revolve and follow around. To touch base with their origins, mysteries, and inter-relationships. Ideally by choice. Because they can be harsh teachers.Fire in this instance, is the element of choice however it cannot be seperated from the others. They all contain, give birth and depend on each other for thier existence in the forms we know, and also the form that we are. Our biology and charecter are shaped by them and return to their most raw form at the ‘end’. So in essence, we are always having a meeting with the elements in their most intricate form, the human experience, and they have the first and final word. I feel it to be a huge blessing and a huge responsibility to be a human on this planet, and i find that staying deeply in touch with these forces through nature connection can help us recognise that blessing and stay in touch with our responsibilities, while ironing out those that are redundant and meaningless to us, our loved ones and our future.This experience is really a day of nature connection and bushcraft and sitting by the fire on the surface. It is very fun and engaging and also has the potential support us in the intentions and challenges in our lives. We will be going into deeper states of awareness, getting in touch with our homeostatic and survival instincts through the earth skills we will learn. The same instincts that become suppressed through lifes’ twists and turns. The ones that impact our capacity to feel deeply, to know our purpose and place, express and act on our needs and boundaries, and be present and effecive in our relatipnships and our endeavours. So there is a therapuetic or healing element to this event which you can receive. Our fire ceremony towards the evening will be a time to unwind, share a meal, refelct and share anything that wants to be shared, and all the members of the group will be welcomed and asked to honour that and be supportive and confidential. There is no obligation or pressure.WHAT TO BRINGBring Your Own Food/Snacks, a water bottle, a bowl, and anything you need to be comfortable for the long day. Check the weather for clothing requrements. I recommend bringing Cushion and Blanket for relaxing on the forest floor. You are welcome to bring Musical Instruments, Songs, Stories, Poetry, and Food to share by the fire.Bring, Borrow or Buy a Bushcraft Knife and a Small Folding Pruning Saw (at the checkout). If you fall in love with your borrowed tools you can buy them before the end of the event. You will be taking home a Bow Drill (that either you or we all made) as well and other Fire Making Kit.The Structure Of The Day: Includes Breaks, Tea, Food at many intervals.🍁. 10am Intro | Settling in | Nature Connection Practices🍁.
