Ever wanted to lead your own casual bike rides? Wanted to learn how to create and test your own ride routes? Or maybe you want to set up a bike-pool to/from your work place for colleagues? Join us for SVBC&#x27;s Ride Leader Training, where you learn everything you need to know to organize and host your own rides! Hosted by Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition and taught by staff who are League of American Bicyclists Certified Instructors (LCIs), the goal is to get YOU prepped, ready, and confident to take friends and family out for a great experience on two wheels. Once you feel the magic of getting the group together for your first outing, we promise you&#x27;ll want to do one every weekend! After Part 1, you will have learned how to put together a safe, fun, and casual bike ride:<ul><li>How to design a great route </li><li>Recommended tools and gear to bring along</li><li>Ground rules to set before the group departs</li><li>R﻿iding to keep a group together and safe</li><li>What to decide what to do when the group gets split at a red light</li><li>How you can designate and train Middle Support and Sweep Support, and what their responsibilities are</li><li>B﻿rainstorm your ideas of what kind of ride you&#x27;d like to run!</li></ul>I﻿n the Part 2 on-bike and in-person training, you will:<ul><li>Experience leading a group of fellow trainees on a short ride</li><li>Practice taking a group through the A-B-C Quick Check before your ride</li><li>Learn essential knowledge to help with bike and helmet fit</li><li>Familiarize with basic mechanics like pumping up tires, adjusting seat height, and chain maintenance</li></ul>
