We empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds. Check back frequently, as we post new service opportunities on the 1st and 15th of each month.

Seeds of Caring

Children will collect new or gently used art supplies for New Americans supported by CRIS.

Who this Anywhere Project is for:Ages 4-12. Not sure if this project is the right fit for your kids? Email us with questions at programs@seedsofcaring.org.What you&#x27;ll be doing:Help welcome New American families in our community! Children will gain empathy for the refugee experience through a hands-on activity and age-appropriate discussion. Then, helping hands will collect new or gently used art supplies and decorate welcome cards for families supported by <a href="https://www.crisohio.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CRIS</a>.When you&#x27;ll be doing it:This Anywhere Project can be done at home, school, or wherever you are!This project is on-going. Families and groups may participate until the project ends on June 26th. Donations may be porch-dropped to a Seeds of Caring volunteer in Upper Arlington, Dublin, or Grove City from 9am - 7pm on August 25-27 or to our home office in Worthington on August 28th. Addresses will be provided in your service packet.How it all works:Once you have completed registration, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with a link to your service packet. This packet includes project instructions, guided discussions and more. If for some reason you cannot access this file, please email programs@seedsofcaring.org for assistance.The meaning-making:Engaging children’s hearts and minds before getting their hands active with service is a vital step in raising caring, compassionate humans. In every Seeds of Caring service packet, you&#x27;ll find quick, easy-to-use guides to support you in leading meaning-making conversations! This project&#x27;s guided discussion focuses on New Americans and kindness.Approximate Cost: Free! Conduct an art supply drive in your neighborhood or with friends and family. A flyer is included in your service packet to assist children with their supply drive if you so choose. For welcome cards use craft supplies on hand or the provided printable template.Why you&#x27;ll be invited to donate:Every time we&#x27;re able to design, coordinate, and offer an opportunity for kids to give back, it&#x27;s with the help of supporters like you.
