Through the preservation and exhibition of African American material culture, history, and aesthetic expression, the Carver Museum works to create a space where the global contributions of all Black people are celebrated.We accomplish this by telling stories about our local community and connecting those histories to larger narratives about Blackness.

The Carver Museum hosts a multi-generational community kickback and dance party!

George Washington Carver Museum, Cultural and Genealogy Center‎

<p>Pull up on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm for the Carver Museum&#x27;s multi-generational community kickback and dance party!  We will also be hosting a dance battle with cash prizes, so bring your  crew, and show us what you&#x27;ve got. In partnership with Creative Action, a sensory station stocked full of glowsticks, kites, bubble guns, sparklers, and more will be available to attendees under a neon tent. High-energy sets by DJ Cysum and DJ Dontizl will keep the vibes high before closing out with a special edition of BodyRockATX. </p><p></p>
