What is Death over Tea?

Death over Tea is a safe space to talk about death and dying. Organic conversations that help people get more comfortable with talking about death among one another that in turn can assist someone navigate those difficult conversations with your loved ones.

What if I am not comfortable speaking in groups?

No worries my friend! You are welcome to just listen. Perhaps as you get to know us, you will become more comfortable in sharing.

We will begin by introducing ourselves and open the space with general questions and answers. Some may share experiences, some are processing a loss or experiencing a major life event. Your choice is always respected if you choose not to share or have video on, although we encourage both.

All are welcome! Anyone who is curious and are open to talking about death and dying, please join us! Our conversations will always be focused on death but what we will be really sharing is about living fully until we take our last breath.

Will there be guest speakers?

Yes! I can’t wait for you to meet other death doulas, hospice nurses and physicians who are working the front lines supporting people at the end of life and their loved ones.

Join us for this FREE HYBRID EVENT at both JUMP (Jacks Urban Meeting Place in Boise, Idaho) AND ONLINE on March 19th from 7:00-8:30 PM MST for “Death over Tea”.

We are very excited to share that Jodi Peterson-Stigers, CEO of Interfaith Sanctuary, will be joining us in person at JUMP Boise and we will be streaming this live event with our online Death over Tea community.

Space is limited and registration is required for both events.

Jodi Peterson-Stigers is the CEO of Interfaith Sanctuary which provides overnight shelter, a warm meal, supportive services, kindness and compassion to men, women & children who are experiencing homelessness.

With the recent opening of the Interfaith Sanctuary new home, Jodi will share the services that are currently being provided as well as supporting those who are medically fragile and at the end of life with their designated hospice home environment.

Their mission is:

Interfaith Sanctuary Shelter is home for a warm meal and a safe place to lay your head for all genders, races, religions, and sexual orientation. We are a sanctuary for families with children allowing them to find shelter together. We are a shelter full of hopes and dreams offering second chances and supportive services everyday.

Services Available

Interfaith Sanctuary by day is a home too: preschool learning, parenting classes, case management support, housing services and nutritional support.

They are also home for our senior population where finally they have a safe space to be all day and the ability to receive the care and support they so very much deserve.

We are a home of second chances for our unemployed, our mentally fragile, our friends struggling with addiction. Our building by day becomes a sanctuary of learning, recovering, growing, creating and moving forward towards a better life
