Hidden Stories Tour Series

Join us for a variety of tours that explore different perspectives and different stories about the Pullman Neighborhood. These tours get a little playful and tell stories you won't hear on the regular tours.

Alleys offer an often overlooked view of a community. What can we see differently by walking the alleyways of Pullman? This tour explores how alleys and the refuse that filled them shaped the City of Chicago. Alleys throughout the city fundamentally impacted the structural and architectural history of Chicago as well as the public health of its inhabitants. From the beginning of Pullman, alleys were an important aspect of the community. By walking the alleys we can view Pullman's architecture from a new perspective, and discover the rich history of this community.

Tours depart the Exhibit hall at 1:30 p.m., last about 90 minutes, and cover a walking distance of about a mile. Tickets purchased in advance are $15 for general admission, $10 for students and seniors, and Free for children under 12. At the door, tickets increase to $20 for general admission and $15 for students and seniors. Tickets include access to the Exhibit Hall, please note, come early if you want to see our new exhibit: From Wrecking Ball to National Park!After the tour, visit the Pullman National Historical Park Visitor Center, open from 9:00-5:00 every day, for an overview of Pullman, the man, the company, and the town. If you enjoy your tour and/or your visit to the Exhibit Hall, please donate to support the Historic Pullman Foundation, the official friend's group of the National Park. Your donations keep the money local and help both organizations share the amazing story that is Pullman.

<h2>Important Questions</h2>P﻿ullman is easily accessible by car from the highway. Pullman is also easily accessible from <a href="https://ridertools.metrarail.com/maps-schedules/train-lines/ME" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">the Metra Electric train.</a> Train #815 from Millennium Station departs at 12:10 PM and arrives in 111th St (Pullman) at 12:42 PM, in time to look around the Exhibit Hall before heading out to explore Pullman's Alleys. Dress for the weather, we go out in all weathers.
