The Regional Goods Movement Plan is a long-range transportation plan meant to ensure our region will continue playing a critical role in national and international supply chains while meeting regional economic goals.Join us to learn about the strategies, projects, policies, and programs developed to mitigate the possible community and livability issues generated due to freight movement.We’ll discuss the following:<ul><li>Safety of non-truck road users</li><li>Air quality and emissions</li><li>Traffic congestion</li><li>Mobility issues such as blocked railroad crossings</li><li>Residential and community impacts such as truck parking</li><li>Allow time for the public to provide feedback on prioritizing project recommendations and resource allocation</li></ul>We would like to hear from the public on which project recommendations should take precedence.This is the right time to provide your input.Join us on Tuesday, June 6 at Economic Alliance Houston Port Region (203 Ivy Avenue, Suite 200, Deer Park, TX 77536) at 6 p.m.This is a hybrid event. The first Regional Goods Movement Plan was completed in 2013. The Regional Goods Movement Plan is a Long Range Plan for the goods movement system in the region. The plan ensures the region can continue to play a critical role in the national and international supply chains while meeting regional economic goals, address mobility challenges, and mitigating impacts on the environment and contributing to community livability and quality of life.What is Goods Movement?Goods Movement is the wide array of activities that are involved in moving products from produces to consumers. About H-GACHouston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) is a Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) designated by the State of Texas for the eight-county Houston-Galveston region. The H-GAC Transportation Department is responsible for transportation planning and policymaking, ensuring that expenditures for transportation projects and programs are based on a continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive planning process.
