The Sound Room is aptly named. The focus is on the sound or the music. Unlike clubs where the performance may be peripheral to the experience, at the Sound Room the performance is the experience.  We are an all-ages listening room. We exist to present great music and promote jazz as an art form.The Sound Room is the home of Bay Area Jazz & Arts, a  501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on promoting the Arts.

Loose and limber, moving and grooving, this project feels like a Saturday night celebration, with Rose and her top-shelf cast romping through rare jazz standards, originals, blues and R&amp;B classics. Led by jazz organist Wayne De La Cruz, guitarist Danny Caron and drummer Mark Lee, this group is ready to Party!&quot;Outstanding vocals...Rose hits that jazz &amp; soul sweet spot with Wayne De La Cruz and Hammond Organ Party!&quot;  Frank-John Hadley, DownBeatSinger, songwriter, vocalist, educator, Pamela Rose has been performing locally and internationally for many years. With 7 recordings to her name, she also loves being a member of the vocal faculty at the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley. For the past 10 years, Rose has been part of touring multimedia shows Blues is a Woman and Wild Women of Song: Great Gal Composers of the Jazz Era. But Bay Area fans also know that Rose’s enduring passion for the swinging and soulful sounds of the Hammond B-3 organ have often paired her with B-3 wizard Wayne De La Cruz.“Hammond Organ Party! is an exceptional collaboration…Rose and De La Cruz have hit a home run!”  - Pete Fallico, Doodlin’ LoungeAlso Featuring guitartist Danny Caron and Mark Lee. Danny Caron is the featured guitarist on the Van Morrison produced John Lee Hooker album, “Don’t Look Back” which won two Grammy Awards – one for Best Traditional Blues Recording, and the other for Best Collaboration, Van Morrison and John Lee Hooker. He has played for President Clinton’s first Inaugural Ball, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, numerous jazz festivals throughout the US and Europe, several tours to New Zealand with great artists like Robben Ford, Charlie Musslewhite, Duke Robillard and Bettye LaVette. Television appearances include the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.He keeps up a busy schedule touring and performing. Mark Lee has a wealth of experience performing on the San Francisco/BayArea instrumental music and musical theater scene. He has backed vocalist Ernestine Anderson, Freda Payne, Charles Brown, Mary Lou Henner, Stephanie Powers, The Pointer Sisters and many more.
