Does this workshop cost anything?

No, this workshop is completely free of charge!

Question 2

Should I bring any materials with me?

Accepted Answer

No, all of the materials, tools, and bags will be provided for use in this workshop.

We do ask that you bring a 4" x 6" photo of your mother figure to include in your frame.

What ages are recommended?

Suggested 12 & up unless you have prior crochet experience.

How do we access the workshop when at the museum?

Accepted Answer

The workshop is located on the second floor of the Savannah African Art Museum's Terracotta Gallery to the back left when you enter the parking lot. The black metal stairs can be found to the right of the terracotta gallery and lead up to the second-floor entrance to the workshop space.

Question 5

Are there other ways of accessing the workshop that do not involve stairs?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunatly no. 
The workshop space is only accessible by exterior stairs. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.  However, the main museum building is fully accessible with a wheelchair lift and elevator.

Question 6

Can I just show up?

Accepted Answer

No, we ask that you register in advance through Eventbrite. 
We have limited supplies and to make sure that everyone has enough materials and tools we require advanced registration.

Question 7

What if I cannot physically attend the workshop but I still would like to get involved?

Accepted Answer

Not a problem! 
We have free online resources through our website that list out all of the materials, tools, and steps to virtually get involved in this initiative.

What if I register and cannot make it for the workshop?

Please let us know as soon as you know that you cannot attend. That way your spot will not be wasted and another participant can join in. You can email us at ljackson@savannahafricanartmuseum.org with your name and ticket info.
