Get to know the woman behind the royal images as historical actress Leslie Goddard portrays the life of Queen Elizabeth II.

It is 1992, and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is pondering how to handle turmoil in the royal family in the wake of some scandalous divorces and finger-wagging media reports. As she reflects on her struggles, she looks back on her life, from her happy childhood through the abdication of her uncle, her marriage to a navy officer named Philip, her coronation, and her ongoing walk to balance her roles as queen and mother. In this historical portrayal by scholar and actress Leslie Goddard, Ph.D., you'll get to know the woman behind the images, her sense of humor and the savvy intelligence with which she meets her demanding obligations. Beyond just the facts about her life, we get to see who she was as a person, from her jewelry and tiara (historical reproductions) to her sense of humor. Leslie Goddard, Ph.D., is an award-winning historian, author, actress, and lecturer who has been portraying great women in history for more than 20 years. She holds an interdisciplinary Ph.D. from Northwestern University as well as a master’s degree and an undergraduate degree in theater. A former museum director, she currently works full-time as an actress, public speaker and author. Recognized as one of the top historical performers working today, her portrayals have been seen by audiences in more than thirty-five states, including scores of universities, museums, libraries, civic organizations and Chautauqua festivals.Fish and chips will be provided to all attendees.
