When Georgia Van Cuylenburg finished her 100 miles walk across Los Angeles - a walk she embarked on to encourage everyone to listen and see ALL people of LA - she felt confused, joyful, devastated, angry and lost... and was in unbearable pain. For months she tried to make sense of all the beautiful and bitter sweet things she had learned, the unanswerable questions and the inhuman atrocities she experienced. In an attempt to find meaning in it all, she wrote it down unsure if she could share it with anyone; if anyone would want to hear it. Then when she was asked to be an ambassador for Unity Week 2023 she decided that we cannot come together in unity until we acknowledge how very far apart we currently are. Georgia would like to invite you to be part of that moment, as she shares a few (60) of the things she learned. It&#x27;s just one night, a live taping to be premiered at Unity Week.Georgia now is learning to accept that there are a lot of things we as individuals cannot change about life or our city but she is sure that there are a few thing we can do that will make a difference and she would like you to join her in giving them a try.This talk/presentation/performance will be approximately 50 minutes followed by a Q&amp;A and will be taped to be premiered at Unity Week on June 23rd 2023.Tickets are &#x27;donate what you choose&#x27; and all proceeds go towards supporting arts education for youth in under resourced communities of Los Angeles through the 501(c)3 Arts Bridging the GapWe have the honor of working and living on land that is the home of the Tongva People. This post and this event are created on land of which they are the original stewards. We recognize and celebrate their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We commit to continuing to learn from their stories, experiences and traumas and encourage us all to embrace the value and impact partnerships with the Native tribes of our homes can bring to all of us.
