Morning Hike at Lower La Honda Creek

POST protects open space on the San Francisco Peninsula and in the South Bay for the benefit of all. Since 1977, we've worked hard to permanently protect lands for hiking and recreation trails, wildlife habitats, redwood trees and local farms—all of which make our region extraordinary.We want people to get out and enjoy these amazing local landscapes, so we host all kinds of community events—and we'd love for you to join us! Lower La Honda Creek OSP

Join Peninsula Open Space Trust for a beautiful hike at Lower La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve where you&#x27;ll experience the area’s sweeping views and gorgeous rolling grasslands! The preserve is over 6,100 acres, of which POST has contributed 5,200 acres. You will be guided by POST ambassadors on the meandering trails of Lower La Honda Creek, featuring a still-active cattle operation and views of the surrounding ridgelines! The hike is moderate to strenuous at about 6 miles round trip with about 1100 feet of gradual elevation gain. There are some steep portions of this hike so hiking poles, closed-toed shoes with tread, and plenty of water/snacks for yourself are recommended.To sign up, please complete the Eventbrite form below. The orange “Register” button will be clickable once all fields are properly filled. Please register using a valid e-mail so you receive your e-ticket &amp; the pre-hike instructions.Please note that dogs are not allowed on this preserve due to active cattle grazing and that all minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for the entirety of the hike. **Please note this hike is subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. Keep an eye on your inbox closer to the date of the event for updates and news**COVID-19 Guidelines: We ask that you do not attend this event if you are experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms including: fever or chills; cough; shortness of breath or difficulty breathing; fatigue; muscle or body aches; headache; new loss of taste or smell; sore throat; congestion or runny nose; nausea or vomiting; diarrhea. Masks are not required but recommended.
