Morning Hike at San Vicente Redwoods

POST protects open space on the San Francisco Peninsula and in the South Bay for the benefit of all. Since 1977, we've worked hard to permanently protect lands for hiking and recreation trails, wildlife habitats, redwood trees and local farms—all of which make our region extraordinary.We want people to get out and enjoy these amazing local landscapes, so we host all kinds of community events—and we'd love for you to join us! San Vicente Redwoods Trailhead

Join us for a community hike at San Vicente Redwoods! This will be a moderate hike of 3.5 miles with moderate elevation gain. Guests will be led by a POST ambassador, who will share about the human and natural history of this important working forest, the history of its protection as well as the impacts of the 2020 CZU fire on forest health and wildlife habitat. About San Vicente Redwoods (SVR) - SVR is a 8,852-acre property in the Santa Cruz Mountains protected in 2011 and co-managed by four nonprofit conservation partners: POST, <a href="https://www.landtrustsantacruz.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Land Trust of Santa Cruz County</a>, <a href="https://sempervirens.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Sempervirens Fund</a>, and <a href="http://www.savetheredwoods.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Save the Redwoods League</a>. It is both a model of conservation and a living laboratory for ecosystem restoration, wildfire resilience work, wildlife protection and public access. Pass holders will be notified of property closures, heavy storms, red flag days, conservation harvest events, and private community events.
