The importance of sexual health in the perinatal period...& how to talk about it

<p>The topic of sex (&amp; everything it includes) is rarely given the attention it deserves, especially for those who are pregnant or postpartum. Our sexual health has been shown as a significant marker in our overall health &amp; quality of life, yet there remains a significant lack of information given. Clearing someone at 6wks postpartum for penetrative intercourse but offering nothing else can be very detrimental to the wellbeing of all those involved, and especially the birthing person. Likewise, when a pregnant person is not supported on the topic of sexual health, it can lead to more complications post delivery. You&#x27;ll learn how to approach the topic of sex with information that will truly support the birthing person, how to spot areas of concern, and ultimately how to empower those struggling with connection to this part of themselves.</p>
