《萬曆十五年》： “公元1587年，在中國為明萬曆十五年，論干支則為丁 亥，屬豬。當日四海昇平，全年並無大事可敘……總之，在歷史上，萬曆十 五年實為平平淡淡的一年。平靜之下，卻隱藏著大明王朝乃至整個中國命 運轉變的伏筆。” 《萬曆十五年》（1587, a Year of No Significance: The Ming Dynasty in Decline）是歷史學家黃仁宇最出名、也是體現其「大歷史觀」的一部明史 研究專著。本書原寫作語言為英文，1981年由耶魯大學出版社印行，並獲 得美國國家書卷獎（American Book Awards）1982年和1983年歷史類好書兩 次提名。
In 1587, the Year of the Pig, nothing very special happened in China. Yet in the seemingly unspectacular events of this ordinary year, Ray Huang finds the roots of China's inability to adapt to change. With fascinating accounts of the lives of seven prominent officials, he fashions a remarkably vivid portrayal of the court and the ruling class of late imperial China. In revealing the subtle but inexorable forces that brought about the paralysis and final collapse of the Ming dynasty, Huang offers the reader perspective into the problems China has faced through the centuries.
This free presentation will be conducted in Mandarin Chinese.
