A conversation about the field of Teaching Artistry

Join us for a unique panel discussion about the emerging, &amp; often misunderstood, field of Teaching Artistry. A Teaching Artist is not an art teacher. We are facilitators who use the arts as a medium to solve problems. Representing all art forms, we are found in businesses, museums, schools, correctional facilities, theaters, government, community organizations, &amp; more. We provide the public &amp; private sectors with quality creative experiences that stimulate genius, critical thinking, leadership, joy, reconciliation, understanding, self-expression, empathy, growth &amp; resilience. We are storytellers, performers, observers, &amp; masters at bringing communities together.Nicole Taylor, TAG <a href="https://teachingartists.com/regional_networks/california/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Regional Network Leader</a>, moderates a panel of teaching artists and allies for Ventura County. With support from the California Arts Council, TAG of California offers insight to training, curriculum, and online tools helping teaching artists statewide connect to fellow professionals and hiring organizations. Our spring programming partially funded by CAC is titled the The CAC Project. This program will hold four events that are for TA’s by TA’s in rural areas of California. They are led by a Regional Network leader that curates an event specific to the needs that they see in their community. These paid teaching artists are called “Regional Network Leaders” with at least 3+ years of experience. These leaders will have substantial knowledge of teaching artistry in their area and will be comfortable with grassroots community organizing.
