At PRG we are dedicated to supporting our breast and gynecological cancer survivors from diagnosis through survivorship.Our May Bay Area Peer Support Coffee Talk is one you won't want to miss!Meet Alex Blefari, Doctor of Physical Therapy, specializing in Pelvic Floor, for an interactive discussion regarding how physical therapy and specific movement practices can prevent and treat long-term side effects of cancer treatments. She will touch on several topics including:<ul><li>Lymphedema and how to do your own manual lymphatic drainage massage

</li><li>Ways to break down and prevent pain and movement disorders from fibrosis / scar tissue after radiation and surgery
</li><li>Changes in hormones and natural remedies to balance them 
</li><li>How to treat and prevent pain areas after breast/endometrial cancer: neck, shoulder, low back, pelvic and hip pains; bladder incontinence; GI issues and more!</li></ul>For the safety of our survivors, PRG recommends full COVID vaccination, as defined by the CDC.  We respect everyone’s personal choice to wear a mask, though out of concern for our immune compromised population, masks are still encouraged for this event.If your caregiver/spouse is dropping you off we will have information on local areas for them to wait for you.Please contact Laurie Gillespie - Community Engagement Coordinator lgillespie@pinkribbongood.org with any questions.
