The idea to host a Flamenco Camp in Vamos comes from the deep connection with the village, its people, its food and history with the flamenco culture. In particular, the interaction between the Arab legacy and the flamenco culture is still vivid, and you may still perceive such heritage in their musical traditions. This is why we thought of Vamos and its community as the ideal cradle for this event: it would be an extremely humbling and healing experience, to be able to share knowledge and passion for the Flamenco mesmerising culture, providing the audience with a moment of beauty and joy to share altogether. The plan is to set up both flamenco performances and workshops for the locals to engage with, and these performances and workshops will be given by Spanish and local Greek artists. We are welcoming everyone to take part in this Flamenco movement!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ES: Vamos fue fundada por piratas árabes que fueron expulsados de España en el siglo VIII.La idea de organizar un Flamenco Camp en Vamos surge de la profunda conexión con el pueblo, su gente, su comida e historia con la cultura flamenca.

Σε περίπτωση που τα δωμάτια καλυφθούν στο Βάμο, θα πρέπει να αναζητηθούν άλλα σε κοντινά χωριά.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ENIn this seminar, we learn how with a few but fundamental [kinetic & musical] patterns that define the language of flamenco, we can actively participate in a circle, the traditional shape in which we "play" flamenco. The dance and τηε music is characterized by polyrhythm (African root of flamenco) and synchronization is achieved by the combination of patterns that complement each other. Our goal: the constant communication of those who participate and the freedom to alternate the ways they interact, while following the flow. We will practice: • dancing/baile • clapping/palmas • exclamations/jaleos (equally important and absolutely necessary) • the cooperation of all the above These lessons reproduce the collectivity of the flamenco circle, where each member has heir own voice, and is important, equal, and supported by the other members of the group. They are open to everyone regardless of skill level or dancing style, musicians involved in or interested in flamenco, dance teachers and aficionados.
