The Artists Gallery Presents: River, Ribbon of Life, Juried Invitational ExhibitionAwards Reception, Saturday, May 13th, 5:00 pm - 9:00 pmThe river is one of the most critical factors of our life on earth. Rivers provide us with food, transportation, energy, and recreation. It allows for an ecosystem and wildlife that lives near and by the river on which we depend. This exhibition explores the life force created by and around the River. The animals, fish, birds, trees, grasses, rocks, mosses, the vegetation, would not exist without the flow of the River: The Ribbon of Life. JUROR: Joe A. Oakes – Fine Artist and InstructorJoe A. Oakes’ landscapes burn with the excitement of bold, bright color and draw on scenes from all over the U.S. but especially the Southwest and the state of California. Oakes’ work offers a new perspective on color and place while offering a meditative sense of calm, happiness, and reverence for the land. He holds a BFA from California State University, Fullerton and among his awards are the Distinguished Artist Award from the City of La Quinta, California in 2011 and a First Place Award for his work in Visions Exhibition at Chaffey Community Museum of Art in Ontario, California in 2019. Oakes resides near Riverside in Southern California.EXHIBITION IMAGES: https://www.taggallery.net/riverexhibition2023INVITED ARTISTSGwendalin AranyaKaty BishopMolly CairneyLinh CamGideon CohnEileen FotiMatt GallienKaren Hochman BrownThomas JacksonShalla JavidAustin LubetkinJohn KostaJace LaaksoDiane LamboleyMacey LipmanMarilyn Lowney JohnsonVivian McAleaveyHelen McLuckieRobert NelsonBrendan QuirkBrian ReynoldsSusan SpectorAlyson StormsRustam TahirGabriel Tellez MoralesEmily WallersteinBrenda WelshMIchael WicksJim WilsonDeborah Ziskind
