The members of the Kelsey Greeson Project would love to have you present in the TAF theatre for this engaging, fun, dynamic music experience!The concert features the wide-ranging talents of singer-songwriters-arrangers and entertainers Scott Greeson and Vickie Maris (based in Battle Ground, Indiana), Michael Kelsey (based in Indianapolis, Indiana) and Courtney Von Drehle (based in Portland, Oregon).When together on stage as the Kelsey Greeson Project, the long-time life connections and music chemistry, among these individual recording artists and band leaders, leave an audience wanting more at concert end.It’s evident from any angle that each member of the group desires for the others to shine. Through their way of engaging an audience, fans mention after a show that they felt like they had been invited into the living room for a house concert. Kelsey, Greeson, Maris and Von Drehle bring their collective musical experiences together to form a cohesive and captivating concert experience that audiences talk about long after the end of the show. The energy they share is addicting; their love for each other and for their fans is palpable; and their expertise in their craft – undeniable. Through friendships that reach back to high school (McCutcheon in Lafayette, Indiana) and through music friendships that stem from music camps held in Oregon, these four artists are returning to the newly-remodeled stage on the main floor of the Wells Community Center at The Arts Federation, 638 North Street, Lafayette, Indiana, to share their unique combination of sound.Oct. 7, 2023Doors at 7 pm ET. From his funky, percussive playing style that conjures an image of a one-man version of STOMP, to lush instrumentals reminiscent of Michael Hedges / Phil Keaggy, his performance blends multiple musical genres and vocals along with some techno fun to create a sound all his own. He is the winner of the Guitar Center’s “Guitarmageddon.” Chosen from among 3,000 entrants, the singer-songwriter performed Eric Clapton’s Crossroads 2004 where he shared the stage with many legendary guitarists. Throughout a performance, Michael may make use of technology, his improv skills, objects in the room, and audience interaction to make music for the ears, but more importantly, a musical experience for the sense. The band plays the VIP stage prior to award-winning acts such as Zac Brown, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift and Brad Paisley, at Ruhoff Home Mortgage Music Center in Indianapolis (formerly Verizon, Klipsch and Deer Creek Music Center). Scott and his bands have been favorites at The Taste of Tippecanoe, a TAF fundraising festival, since the early 1990s. In 2020, Greeson and Trouble With Monday did a fast pivot and pre-recorded a show to be included in the virtual delivery of The Taste when the World was in shutdown at the start of the pandemic. In 2021, they lit up the Depot Stage at Riehle Plaza as the final act of the night. Michael Kelsey was a guest guitarist for the concert. Both the band and the audience were treated to the synchronicity of a freight train whistling its way into town along the tracks 100 yards from the stage as Greeson was playing his original, <a href="https://youtu.be/FpgjYDL3cFg" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">If I Had a Train</a>, which is a cut from his most recent album, Riverside, produced in Kelsey’s studio. Greeson and his band returned to the Taste of Tippecanoe in 2023.Scott’s music is warm, and his style is engaging. He delivers an eclectic mix of songs reflective of stories from his upbringing and real-life experiences. Greeson’s music has been compared to the likeness of Jason Isbell, John Mellencamp, Darius Rucker, Little Big Town, Merle Haggard and Zac Brown. When he is performing with the band, Trouble With Monday, you will also hear originals by the other singer-songwriters and recording artists in the band, his wife, Vickie Maris, and vocalist/pianist Lee Anna Atwell. The band is known for its three- and four-part harmonies with saxophonist, Mark Molter, adding a bass vocal part on several of the tunes. Maris&#x27; debut solo album, released in 2022, is Another Universe.Maris, along with singer-songwriter Scott Greeson and singer-songwriter / recording engineer / touring guitarist Michael Kelsey, have opened for The Barefoot Movement, and played for the Athenaeum Christkindlmarkt at The Rathskeller in Indianapolis. She and her band performed in June on the Market Stage for the Taste of Tippecanoe.They were among favorites at the INAFF Convention Showcase in January 2023 while in a lineup with American Idol contestant Alex Miller and The Voice finalist Emily Ann Roberts.Maris is an acoustic guitarist and piano accordionist. His home, and home base for 3 Leg Torso is Portland, Oregon. The 3 Leg Torso history began with street performances, which they titled Meestering and has led to their releasing three award-winning instrumental albums (3 Leg Torso, Astor in Paris, and Animals &amp; Cannibals), East Coast and West Coast Tours, performances with symphony orchestras and a profile on National Public Radio&#x27;s All Things Considered.The cinematic nature of their music has led to work with many film makers, including Oscar-nominated documentary artist Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me), three short films with Teller (of Penn &amp; Teller), two short films by Academy Award winning animator Joan Gratz The Dowager&#x27;s Feast and The Dowager&#x27;s Idyll, scoring With Hope and Help, a UNICEF-funded documentary about living with AIDS in Thailand, and a feature in Oscar nominated King of Indie Animation Bill Plympton&#x27;s Idiots &amp; Angels.
