Where past meets present!King Manor Museum is the historic home of founding father, Rufus King, diplomat and framer of the United States Constitution. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, King Manor continues to host numerous seasonal festivals, family programs and classical music concerts year round. Did President John Quincy Adams REALLY have a pet alligator??

Rufus King was good friends with the 6th president of the United States and antislavery advocate, John Quincy Adams. He even visited Rufus and stayed in the guest room! Join us in celebrating the birthday of JQA (July 11th, 1767) by making your own craft pet alligator! JQA was gifted an alligator by French aristocrat Marquis de Lafayette and rumor has it, he kept the critter in the East Room bathtub of the White House. 

Hands On History is a FREE family program series held each first and third Saturday of the month at King Manor from 1-4pm.
