This AANHPI Heritage Month, learn about Asian American history through the new children’s book An Asian American A to Z by authors Cathy Linh Che and Kyle Lucia Wu. Join Cathy at the Little Saigon Creative for a book reading and signing, and grab your own copy through Elliott Bay Book Company! There will be snacks from various Asian cultures available, so children and families can enjoy an evening rich with cultural history and flavors.Praised by Pulitzer prize winner Viet Thanh Nguyen as “the book I wish I had when I was growing up,” An Asian American A to Z is a comprehensive and spirited exploration of Asian American history—its movements, cultures, and key figures—beautifully illustrated and compellingly told for readers of all ages.This event is free and open to the public. Space is limited, so reserve your spot soon!About the author:Cathy Linh Che is a Vietnamese American writer and multidisciplinary artist. She is the author of Split (Alice James Books), winner of the Kundiman Poetry Prize, the Norma Farber First Book Award from the Poetry Society of America, and the Best Poetry Book Award from the Association of Asian American Studies. She is also the co-author, with Kyle Lucia Wu, of the children’s book An Asian American A to Z: a Children’s Guide to Our History (Haymarket Books), which will be published in May 2023.
