Since 1973,Self Help Graphics & Art(SHG)has produced more than 2,000 art print editions, including 62 Professional Marking Program ateliers and exhibitions all over the world. The organization remains dedicated to the production, interpretation, and distribution of prints and other art media by Chicana/o and Latinx artists; and its multidisciplinary, intergenerational programs promote artistic excellence and empower community by providing access to working space, tools, training and beyond. Join us April 15 for a special community blessing and celebration as we prepare for the physical transformation of our current building!

50 years of arte, cultura, comunidad and advocacy have led us to this special day– Self Help Graphics Transformation Blessing! Join us on Saturday, April 15 from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at SHG, for a special community blessing and celebration as we prepare for the physical transformation of our current building. Our Building Transformation Blessing will include danzantes, free flowing activities for the whole family, and live DJ! Everyone is invited to participate in the collective mural, a pop-up silkscreen print station, contribute to the community altar, and share poetry. We’ll also dedicate a space in our print studio to share palabra and record a video message for Self Help Graphics. Plus, enjoy the flavors of select local food vendors who will be selling delicious street food! Take a piece of our garden to propagate at home too (while supplies last). SHG is located at 1300 E. 1st St. LA, CA. 90033 (Boyle Heights), on the corner of 1st and Anderson. All ages are welcome. Admission and parking are free (limited on-site parking, please carpool).
