CPAs & CMAs in Practice

IMA AZ Valley of the Sun is the Arizona Chapter of the Global Institute of Management Accountants.  The chapter has over 500 members, 18 board members and hosts monthly Technical Sessions and Board Meetings. Technical Sessions offer 1 hour of continuing professional education (CPE) and are held at the Phoenix Airport Marriot.  The standard meeting is from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month.  On some months, we have plant tours or double sessions, offering two to three hours of CPE.

The speakers will be:  Deborah C. Michalowski, CPA -Intel; Travis J. Magneson, CPA, CMA, CFM – CBIZ MHM and Richard T. Leonard, CPA, CMA – Community Bridges.  
This session will provide hour of one CPE.  The plate dinner will be a Grilled Flat Iron Steak, Cheese Enchiladas, Salsa Verde, Spanish Rice and Calabacitas.

CPE:  1 hour CPE tech session. 
Synopsis: One of the benefits of belonging to a Professional Association is getting to know other members through the sharing of our role and responsibilities at work.  So taking that concept a little further, another benefit would also be the sharing of best practices as a CPA or CMA in the practice of accounting and finance.  Your fellow chapter member speakers will discuss key software and technology solutions utilized at their organizations which include small business, public accounting firm, non-profit organization, and public company.  They will go into the capabilities of the technologies and how they use them at their organization.  In addition, they will share best practices for implementing efficient processes.  Together they will provide examples of how they have used them in the past resulting in successful projects, events, etc.
Learning Objectives:

<LI>Implement best practices in current and new technologies at their organization</LI>
<LI>Design new policies and procedures at their organization based on implementing new technologies and best practices.</LI>

6:30 PM to 7:20 PM Technical Session (1 Hour CPE)
