Shakespeare at the Harvester with the Nashville Shakespeare Festival Tour

Concerts, live perfomances, weddings, corporate events, private parties - we do it all! Bert Driver's Burlap Room Beer Garden & Live Music and Harvester Performance & Event Center are open for tours and bookings. Burlap Room is a primarily outdoor venue featuring the Red Bud Stage (with options to move to the indoor Solstice Stage  during inclement weather) located on the 7-acre grounds of Bert Driver Nursery. The Harvester Performance & Event Center is an indoor venue (with an outdoor patio) that features  The Flatwoods Concert Hall (which includes The Yella Dog Lounge, The Black Walnut Bar and Mezzanine, 500 sq. ft. stage with built-in sound system). Two performances for the price of one! Join us as <a href="https://www.nashvilleshakes.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Nashville Shakespeare Festival Education Experience Tour</a> perform Midsummer&#x27;s Night Dream and Macbeth* live in Smithville, TN! Doors open at 4pm, first performance at 6pm. Runtime for each performance is around an hour, with an intermission in between. <a href="https://hardwoodssmokehouse.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Hardwoods Smokehouse</a> food truck on site. Ages 12 &amp; up. <ul><li>A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM: The Harvester becomes a magical realm as a hapless actor becomes a pawn in the battle between the King and Queen of the fairy world. Audience members are enlisted to become fairies by the mischievous Puck, and all are invited to sing along in this 30-minute musical version of Shakespeare’s most popular comedy.</li><li>MACBETH: Presented as a dialogue between the actors and the Harvester audience, excerpts of Macbeth will be performed and discussed. Each actor takes on one of the main characters in the story of the man and his wife who let their ambition and greed overpower their morals and consciences. The objective is to view the characters’ issues through a contemporary lens while demonstrating the clarity and power of Shakespeare’s poetry. The 75-minute program includes 15 minutes of Q&amp;A with the actors. *WARNING: Fake blood and graphic violence is depicted. </li></ul>
