Black Warrior Riverkeeper’s mission is to protect and restore the Black Warrior River and its tributaries. We are a citizen-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting clean water for the sake of public health, recreation, and wildlife habitat throughout our patrol area, the Black Warrior River watershed.

Tuscaloosa Cleanups

Join Black Warrior Riverkeeper as we work to cleanup our community and our watershed!

Join us for a day of service to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023. We will meet at 8:30 for coffee and instructions and serve lunch 12-1. Feel free to come for any duration! If you are interested in doing a canoe cleanup, be sure to arrive at 8:30 in clothes that can get wet.Meeting point: Watson&#x27;s Bend Campground | Holt Peterson Rd, Tuscaloosa, ALThe Watson&#x27;s Bend location is next to the bridge on Holt Peterson Rd.Safety: This event will take place along the roadside in an area that may not have sidewalks, so please only sign up if you feel comfortable with this. ALL children must be accompanied by an adult.What we encourage volunteers to wear/bring:1. Comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting a little wet or dirty (preferably long pants)2. Closed-toed shoes3. Water4. Sun protection (hats, sunglasses, sunscreen)What we will provide:1. Garbage bags2. Gloves &amp; Litter Pickers3﻿. Snacks
