Born in Saigon, Vietnam, he currently lives in Northampton, Massachusetts. Lan Duong is Associate Professor in Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Southern California. She is the author of Treacherous Subjects: Gender, Culture, and Trans-Vietnamese Feminism. Dr. Duong’s second book project, Transnational Vietnamese Cinemas and the Archives of Memory, examines the modes of memory and critique in Vietnamese and Vietnamese diasporic films. Her debut collection of poems, Nothing Follows, was recently published by Texas Tech University Press in 2023. Her poetry has also appeared in the anthologies Watermark: Vietnamese American Poetry and Prose and Tilting the Continent: Southeast Asian American Writing as well as the journals Oberon and Spoon River Review.
