<h2>When is a building more than just brick and mortar? Always.</h2>We’re excited to invite you to the second installment of our 2023 Member Meeting series! The series will take place in-person, and this time we&#x27;re headed to Madison. This USGBC Wisconsin event will convene members and stakeholders who make sustainable, healthy, resilient, and equitable buildings a reality in our community. We&#x27;ll kick off the program with a brief welcome from local leadership to make sure you&#x27;re aware of the amazing things happening with USGBC, highlight recently certified projects, and then dive into the main program exploring a critical industry topic. <h3>Show me the Money</h3>Higher interest rates, labor and supply chain shortages and increased costs are impacting every aspect of the built environment marketplace. Join us to learn more about different programs and resources that can help make your project more sustainable. Understand basics of green financing, learn how PACE financing works, tap into Focus on Energy incentives, and gain insights about the new IRA tax credit incentives. It is possible to build sustainable, lower carbon buildings that are safer, cleaner and more comfortable for their inhabitants, even in today&#x27;s challenging capital-constrained environment.<h3>Green financing nexus with LEED</h3>Green financing incentives help bring the benefits of LEED certification within reach for a more significant number of tenants and property owners than would otherwise be possible. Kathy Kuntz, Director, Dane County Office of Energy &amp; Climate Change Presentation Title: Leveraging the Inflation Reduction Act &quot;The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) is the largest climate action legislation in history. Learn how green building professionals can leverage the IRA to integrate energy efficiency and renewable energy into new construction and retrofit projects.&quot; Kathy Kuntz is the Director of the Dane County Office of Energy &amp; Climate Change in Madison, Wisconsin where she leads climate action efforts across Dane County. Kathy has 30 years of experience implementing programs focused on resource efficiency and climate action. Prior to joining Dane County Kathy led Cool Choices, a nonprofit that promoted climate action, and prior to that Kathy led Focus on Energy, Wisconsin’s statewide energy efficiency and renewable energy program. Tim Mathison, General Counsel, Slipstream Presentation Title: Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy 101 Tim Mathison is Slipstream’s General Counsel and Secretary. In this capacity, he provides legal analysis, counsel and representation to Slipstream and its Board.  Tim also directs Slipstream’s Commercial PACE programs. Tim is a licensed attorney with a wide range of experience in non-profit governance, contracts, real estate, risk, government, and commercial litigation. He holds a J.D. from UIC School of Law in Chicago, a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and has completed additional legal education at Marquette University in Milwaukee and the Honorable Society of King&#x27;s Inns in Dublin, Ireland. Lisa Stefanik , Managing Director, Focus on Energy Presentation Title: The Role of Focus on Energy Managing Federal Funds in WisconsinMs. Lisa Stefanik is a seasoned professional with more than 25 years of work experience. She has a passion and enthusiasm for energy efficiency and renewable energy, which led her to her current role as the Managing Director of Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy Program. Lisa has lived and worked in Wisconsin a majority of her life. She equates her strong work ethic and interest in sustainability from her time working on and helping to manage her family’s farm in Albany, WI. Prior to coming to work at APTIM, the company that administers the Focus on Energy Program, Ms. Stefanik was involved in the energy industry as an energy program evaluator and consultant, a Policy Advisor to the Public Service Commission of WI, and a Marketing Manager for the Focus on Energy Program. Lisa earned her Master of Business Administration degree from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and her Bachelor’s degree from UW-Madison in Sociology, with concentrations on Analysis, Research, and Environmental Studies. Maria Redmond, Director of the Wisconsin Office of Sustainability and Clean Energy Presentation Title: Green Financing in WisconsinMaria serves as the Director of the Wisconsin Office of Sustainability and Clean Energy and has worked for the State of Wisconsin for 22 years. In addition to helping with the development and implementation of the recommendations from the Governor’s Task Force on Climate Change, Maria is leading the implementation of the state’s first-ever Clean Energy Plan. Maria leads projects and partnerships centered on environmental justice and multi-sector deep decarbonization and supports the state’s bustling clean energy economy that ensures a diverse workforce and technology innovation.
