Find Your Funny: 6-Week Improv Intensive

From stage presence and finding your voice, to character building and scene-painting, Find Your Funny will turn novice improvsors into experienced players. 
Inspired by the world's leading schools of comedy, and infused with instructor Brittany Brave's own personal philosophies, Find Your Funny is an all-in-one course for folks looking to step outside of their comfort zone and harness their comedic voice. In addition to improv, the class also touches on acting and public speaking and builds a connection between the principles of comedy and students' professional and interpersonal lives.
The 6-week program, Find Your Funny, begins Tuesday, October 15  from 7-9pm at Studio 150s in midtown Manhattan (150 46th Street, Floor 6). The classes are weekly, and there will be a show at the end of the program so students can flaunt their newfound skills. Additionally, we will offer extra, one-off jam sessions so students who missed a class, or just want to get more reps in.

FIND YOUR FUNNY FAQ:
What if I have to miss a class or 2? No problem. I will be hosting intermittent jams/workshops for free to allow students currently enrolled in the course to get those extra reps in and make up their time. Obviously you benefit the most by attending as many classes as possible, but there is no penalty if you have to leave early, arrive late or can't swing one.
Is this introductory? Nope! Part of class 1 (Wednesday, April 24) will feature some more beginner/basic exercises but we quickly move on from that part of the curriculum. This 6-week course is an intensive in the sense that it covers all the major principles, lessons and exercises of levels 1-5 at other comedy theaters.
Do I have to do the show? No, you do not. It's encouraged as it's a great experience and fun way to celebrate everything you've worked on in class.
What exactly am I learning? Everything you need to know about long-form improvisational comedy, plus short-form improvisation, acting techniques, public speaking tips and more.
Can I request a refund or credit transfer? Sorry, but there are no refunds for the program. If you find you're unable to complete the entire course, a credit transfer can be discussed so that your registration is honored at another date.

About the teacher: Brittany Brave is a NYC-based comedian, actress, writer and host. She possesses 15+ years of theatre and improv experience, having trained and performed at UCB, iO, The Second City, The PIT, Magnet Theatre and more. Currently, she performs improv, along with sketch and stand-up comedy all across the city, produces the podcasts Class Act and Violently Funny and runs Cat Call, a n organization that curates 2-3 all-female events/month in arts and media.
