Description

Join us for an interactive day of learning and fun for high school students who have read the Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks and are interested in science, technology, engineering, art, or math.

This program is sponsored by the Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, Johns Hopkins East Baltimore Community Affairs, in partnership with teachers from Baltimore City Schools.

Students will:

  • Honor Henrietta Lacks and HeLa Cells’ impact on medicine

  • Participate in science labs involving Cells

  • Examine the ethical and social issues in research
