Jones, alongside her non-sexual life partner Nancy Schwartz (Alyssa Hughlett), and slinging a bevy of wickedly concocted magical potions, by the mysterious Janessa Johnsrude as Musty Beaver, the Papaya Lounge is a not-to-be-missed bi-annual event serving up a down and dirty evening of performance, comedy, live music, and a booze-filled extravaganza!

What is the Rumble Royale? It’s the most ruckus of smackdowns rolled up like a weird lil’ sausage encased in a live show where “Pee-wee’s Playhouse” meets “Absolutely Fabulous”. You might know The Papaya Lounge as a fresh, innovative, and blatantly naughty cabaret. The annual sold-out Papaya shows feature some of Humboldt’s finest performers and guest artists from around the world. During the Rumble, The Papaya Lounge takes over Septentrio Winery in Arcata, and the audience is invited to partake in bizarre and, let’s use the word “titillating”, games. The sparkling evening of entertainment is led by three wickedly vivacious nonconformists; Velvet Q. Jones (Sarah McKinney), her non-sexual life partner Nancy Schmitkey (Alyssa Hughlett), and personal Bartender, Musty Beaver (Glitter Gizzard). Papaya Lounge Rumble Royale is backed musical stylings of the Papaya Lounge house band, the Enthusiastic Consents, featuring Tim Randles on keys, Mike &quot;Tofu&quot; Schwartz on drums, Nate Zwerdling on bass, Cory Goldman on guitar, and Marla Joy on sax and congas. The wine-oed shindig begins April 21 &amp; 22 at 7:30 pm at Septentrio Winery in Arcata. Doors open at 6 pm with pre-show beats by DJ Dry Hump starting at 6:30 pm. Food by the Nosh will be available to chow before and during the show.
