Djembe Basics at the Memphis Drum Shop

Sound and Rhythm is a place for students of all ages and experience levels. The private lessons and group classes that have been described to me as being fun, inspiring and relaxing. For many, discovering they are capable of playing is a big revelation. But almost everyone has rhythm. Students love discovering that yes, they can play percussion and/or drums.

Sound and Rhythm

Group djembe drumming for All Levels. No experience is needed. A limited number of drums are available (a reservation is needed).

Memphis Drum Shop

Please join us at the Memphis Drum Shop for two incredible hands-on African drumming experiences.Djembe Hand Drumming - All Levels - 12:00 pm noon - 2:00 pm No experience is needed. Experienced drummers will get new material to practice. A limited number of drums are available to rent ($10 per drum). African Rhythms for Drum Set - 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
