Families In Schools envisions a public education system where students have all the opportunities and resources necessary to succeed in school and in life. We seek a workforce prepared for lifelong learning, and active engagement in the civic life of our society. Guided by this belief, the mission of Families In Schools is to involve parents and communities in their children’s education to achieve lifelong success.

THE ONLY SUMMIT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA FOCUSED ON PARENT ENGAGEMENT
You and your leadership, community engagement staff and parent coordinators are invited to Alliance 2019, a one-day family engagement summit where featured keynote speaker Karen L. Mapp, Ed.D, senior lecturer on education at Harvard Graduate School of Education will be inspiring us to think deeply about the importance of building authentic partnerships with families and communities for student success.
Over the past twenty years, Mapp's research and practice focus has been on the cultivation of partnerships among families, community members and educators that support student achievement and school improvement. She has served as a consultant on family engagement in the U.S. Department of Education from 2011-2013, and is the author and co-author of several articles and books about the role of family and community members in the work of student achievement.

About the Alliance Summit & Excellence In Parent Engagement Awards
Now in its seventh year, the Alliance Summit is a convening of community, education, business and philanthropic leaders to celebrate parents and strengthen partnerships for greater student and school success. In 2018, over 83% of participants found the content of the summit relevant and satisfying.

Important Registration Policies
1. Payment method. The Eventbrite system accepts most credit cards as a method of payment. Once the payment is processed, you will receive a confirmation email with event details and payment information. 
 
2. Transfer fee. If you need to transfer your registration to a colleague at a later date, please contact <A HREF="mailto:gmiranda@familiesinschools.org" TARGET="_blank" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Lupe Miranda</A> directly. We will process one transfer maximum on one individual registration. The transfer fee is $15.00 per transfer. Transfer requests must be submitted by Friday, October 5th.  After the specified deadline, transfer requests will not be accepted.
 
3. Refunds. Full refunds minus a $15 administrative fee will apply to all requests received by Friday, October 5th. Refunds after this date will not be processed. To obtain a refund, please contact <A HREF="mailto:gmiranda@familiesinschools.org" TARGET="_blank" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Lupe Miranda</A>.
