The Art & History Museums of Maitland (A&H) is a premier cultural destination and community gathering place in Central Florida, about 15 minutes from downtown Orlando. A&H is a group of sophisticated attractions that includes a contemporary art museum, 3 interactive history museums, and a stunning campus recognized as Central Florida's only National Historic Landmark. <h1>Homeschool Day at A&amp;H - Mini Historical Architecture Tour &amp; Printmaking Fine Art Workshop</h1>You’re invited to step into the fantastical world of artist, master printmaker and architect Jules Andre&#x27; Smith at the Art and History Museums in Maitland. Become inspired on a mini tour of our historic grounds where you’ll see some of Andre’s 2500 concrete reliefs adorned on the buildings, doorways, walkways and gardens. Our tour ends in our main garden, surrounded by a dozen artist studios that Andre’ built nearly 100 years ago, designed especially for visiting artists to live and work together in this creative and magical space.After our tour and in the “en plein air” (open air) of our garden, you’ll learn about the fine art of printmaking. You’ll discover the tools to create a relief print, and then experience printmaking through a guided printmaking lesson. Young printmaker apprentices will have the opportunity to make a plate, ink a plate and then pull a print! After printmaking, revisit the architectural art of Andre’ Smith on a self-guided photo scavenger hunt. The cost is $10 per child and includes all the art supplies and $5 per chaperone. Afterwards, you’re invited to extend your outing with a picnic lunch right next door at Quinn Strong Park.Space is limited for students in grades K - 5 and especially chaperones. If chaperones are able, it would be best to bring multiple students due to the small capacity of this program. Please note, that this is not a drop off program.
