This 2-day workshop is designed to invite participants into the evolving practice of Liberating Structures.

These immersive learning sessions are typically 1-3 days and are aimed at supporting people to develop their familiarity and fluency with Liberating Structures. These are fee-based events. If fees get in the way, we'll work with you to remove the barrier.

This issue is only relevant for paid events. **</p><p>In this 2-day workshop, we will explore the evolving practice of Liberating Structures (LS). By focusing on the newer methods being developed across the global LS community, we hope to shine a light on the underlying design elements, characteristics, and logics that make up the existing repertoire and shape  its future.</p><p>This  series may be for you if...</p><ul><li>Y﻿ou like learning and experimenting with methods or structures that are still-being-developed.</li><li>You find yourself looking for novel tools and get excited about inventing your own.</li><li>C﻿an't find materials or details on certain methods that aren't on the LS website or in the app.</li><li>You want to know, "what makes something a Liberating Structure?" (Don't expect any definitive answers!)</li><li>You are a new or experienced practitioner that is particularly interested in the Liberating Structures repertoire as a whole -- its history, its current state, and its future.</li><li>You love inventing new methods and want to connect with other people thinking about how Liberating Structures is growing and changing.</li><li>You value Liberating Structures as a body of work that changes and evolves in community, and want to influence its future.</li></ul><h3>T﻿his workshop will have two primary themes: Liberating Structures in Development and the Development of Liberating Structures</h3><h3><em>Liberating Structures in Development</em></h3><ul><li>The evolving practice of LS is anything but static. One of the areas that generates lots of energy and enthusiasm is the development of new methods. In these sessions, we will experience, dissect, and lovingly critique some of the structures being developed and the important riffs and variations of existing ones. </li><li>Part of what gives Liberating Structures its vitality is the generative nature of the DNA. Watching people take those design elements and recombine them in novel ways to create new methods or tools is exhilarating. Our hope is that this session sparks your own imagination and creative confidence to start remixing existing methods and inventing your own. </li></ul><h3><em>The Development of Liberating Structures</em></h3><ul><li>In these parts of the workshop, we will explore the outer edges of Liberating Structures, especially how we can be more aware of the lenses that shape not only our use of the methods, but also the development of new ones.</li><li>We will reflect on how the LS repertoire is organized. We will focus attention on the influences that shaped the repertoire and dig into the fuzzy origins, attribution &amp; speculative histories of specific tools.  </li><li>And, we will explore how the LS principles and DNA shape our practice -- and how we may be shaping them, too.</li></ul><h2>Date and Time Details</h2><h3>Date: N﻿ovember 9th &amp; 10th, 2023</h3><p>Times: Both workshop days will run from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm US Central Time. Liberating Structures frequently unleash greater liveliness, difference, and vitality as each person learns to embrace more freedom and responsibility for themselves and the collective.</p>

He has a self-renewing appreciation for both the contextual AND universal ways that LS can be used based on a decade’s work applying the methods to many different settings. </p><p><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/anna-jackson-6223578/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Anna</a> brings an artistic sensibility to her practice with Liberating Structures and other participatory approaches. She is heavily influenced by her work in the mental health recovery movement, peer-based learning &amp; support networks, and facilitation in complex organizational, community, and clinical contexts.</p><p>For the last ten years, Fisher and Anna have contributed to the growth of the global LS community by organizing a range of formal and informal network activities. In addition to regularly co-leading immersion workshops alongside local design ensembles, they have a deep commitment to continuously renewing, growing, developing, and supporting the vibrant and dynamic global community. </p><p></p>
