City Youth Now 2023 Rise Awards

Founded in 1950 as the Volunteer Auxiliary of the Youth Guidance Center, City Youth Now was the first nonprofit of its kind  in the history of the United States’ Juvenile Court System. Since its founding 70 years ago, City Youth Now’s mission has been to provide programs and services that promote personal growth, academic success, and stable employment for youth in the San Francisco Foster Care and Juvenile Justice Systems. Our unique location within the Juvenile Probation Department building has fostered a close partnership with the SF County Juvenile Court judges, Juvenile Probation Department, Juvenile Detention Center, Child Welfare, and SF City Police Dept.Today, services are provided through three main programs:Youth Partnering for Education & Employment (YPEE): Paid internships and educational support.Inside-Out Program: Events and activities for youth housed in the Juvenile Justice Center.Personal Empowerment Program (PEP): Funding and support for youths' unique needs such as sports team memberships, summer camps, and emergency clothing.

O﻿ur 73rd Annual Rise Awards event is a celebration of community and collaboration. We invite you to join us for a evening of dining, dancing and fun in support of the many youth who partner with City Youth Now to reach stability, engage in personal growth and move toward long-term success.C﻿ity Youth Now exists as a longstanding, faithful and partnership-based resource for youth in the community with experience in the San Francisco foster care and juvenile justice systems. Our partnership model includes support for educational and employment related needs as well as personal development and barrier support. D﻿uring this event we will hear from our 2023 scholarship recipients and our 2023 Community Service Award Recipient.W﻿e politely request that all attendees test for COVID within 24 hours of the event.
