Asian American Arts Chicago, formerly APIDA Arts, is a not-for-profit, multi-disciplinary arts organization whose mission is to support and amplify artistic expression from the Asian American diaspora in Chicago, Illinois. We produce festivals, performances, and support a database of Asian American identified artists to provide better representation, equity, and opportunity.

<h1>This event is part of the <em>free</em> <a href="https://www.apidaarts.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">APIDA Arts Festival</a>: Celebrating the Creativity of Asian, Pacific Island, and Desi/South Asian Americans in Chicago, May 5 - 7, 2023. </h1><h2>The mission of the APIDA Arts Festival is to amplify and unify APIDA makers, creators, artists, and performers. </h2><h3>Join us for the Chicago's largest APIDA Arts Festival on <a href="https://www.apidaarts.org/day-1" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">May 5th at Chicago Cultural Center</a> May 6th at Goodman Theatre, and <a href="https://www.apidaarts.org/day-2" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">May 7th at the Museum of Contemporary Arts</a> with an <a href="https://www.apidaarts.org/day-1-1" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">after-party at Lookingglass Theatre. </a></h3><h3>Learn more and consider <a href="https://www.apidaarts.org/get-involved" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">supporting</a> our free arts festival. <h2>The Showcase</h2><h3>Experience the best of Chicago APIDA creativity and performance at this day long variety show. You may attend as many as you wish. Open to all ages, although some material may be intended for adult audiences. </h3><h2><strong>Please select the following events that you plan to attend. Reservations are needed for each event. </strong>Most events are "sold out" with no waiting list. You may watch a livestream at Goodman Theatre in Lab One of the following shows:</h2><h2>10:30–11 am: Banyan Asian American Writers Collective</h2><h2>11:30–11:45 am: Dance</h2><h2>Noon–12:30 pm: Performance art</h2><h2>3–3:30 pm: Live music </h2><h2>3:45–4:45 pm: Talk Stories: An Asian American/Asian Diaspora Storytelling Show</h2><h2>5–5:15 pm: Dance</h2><h2>7-8:30 pm: Staged Reading of Short Plays   </h2><h3>ASL by request by April 21, please email hello@apidaarts.org.</h3><p></p>
