Uncharted: Keyanna Hutchinson: Plugged and Unplugged

Greenwich House Music School, located in the historic West Village, provides a wide range of cultural events as well as instructional classes and outreach in NYC’s public schools. With more than 40 faculty instructors, it has over 450 students from age three to older adults, ranging in skill from beginners to professionals. Classes are offered for all instruments including piano, voice, violin and viola, cello, clarinet, drums, flute, guitar, five-string banjo, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and harp.http://www.greenwichhouse.org/musicEffective March 1, 2022 GHMS still requires masks and proof of a complete COVID-19 vaccination (for those eligible under CDC guidelines) to enter our building. This policy will continue until at least June 13, 2022. GHMS staff and artists are also subject to a mandatory vaccination policy. Proof of vaccination can be your CDC card or a photo of your CDC card with ID, the NY State Excelsior pass app, or the NYC COVID Safe App.Note: Greenwich House Music School is not ADA accessible.

Uncharted Concert Series

Uncharted is a concert series that encourages artists to take risks, and work out new or existing material, collaborations, and projects for an intimate concert experience.

$15 tickets will be available at the door starting at 7 pm tonight. Entry includes beer and wine + 100% of proceeds go directly to the artists.

Greenwich House Music School is pleased to present Keyanna Hutchinson as part of its annual Uncharted Concert Series, part of the Baisley Powell Elebash Artists in Residence Program. Keyanna Hutchinson is a versatile musician from Brooklyn whose multivalent influences can be traced to her Caribbean lineage, her love for popular music, her conservatory training, and a remarkably busy touring and recording schedule supporting performers in the fields of rock, jazz, R&amp;B and experimental composition. Though perhaps best known for her fluency as a guitarist, Hutchinson is also a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer. She counts Terri Lynne Carrington, Lizz Wright and Brandon Ross of Harriet Tubman as mentors and is a recent awardee of the prestigious Next Jazz Legacy fellowship through New Music USA. Hutchinson composes and plays to pay homage and to propagate the roots of black and indigenous sound. For her Uncharted concert, &quot;Plugged and Unplugged,&quot; she will focus her many talents for a new project, intended to be eventually released as her debut album, that combines her love of live performance with recent explorations into electronic composition and remix cultureUncharted, now in its ninth year, has been an invaluable resource for New York-based musicians to develop original material, foster new collaborations, and premiere first-look projects in an intimate concert setting. Greenwich House Music School recommends but does require not facial masks.
