<p>Ethical decision-making and the deliberative process: the ‘ETHOX Approach’ revamped</p><p>In some places, particularly in the UK, Clinical Ethics Committees (CECs) use a structured approach to consider clinical cases. These structured approaches, often understood as ‘ethical frameworks’, are used to guide the CEC’s decision-making as they support clinical teams in reasoning through ethically complex clinical scenarios. After considering a range of these frameworks that are currently in circulation, this paper provides a revamped version of the ETHOX Approach, originally developed in the mid-2000s and which provides a distinctive, analytic approach to developing arguments in clinical ethics case review.</p>
