The New England chapter of the national Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) fulfills the national mission within the New England region. Please join NE HIMSS for the continuation of our very popular “After Dark” webinar series, but for the first time, in person. This will be an opportunity to learn from NE HIMSS leaders and discuss some important topics regarding getting a job and getting ahead in your career.The program will have three breakout sessions and each attendee will be able to participate in 2 of these. After these sessions, there will be time to network with your colleagues and we will also offer a speed date version of resume review. If interested in participating in the resume review, please indicate that on the registration form AND please bring 1 written copy of your resume. The earlier you sign up, the better the chance of you getting selected.The topics for the evening will be:Tips for Successful Networking (led by Bob Dichter &amp; Amy Chacko): Networking is a key step in both finding a job but also in progressing in your career – you want others to know who you are and what you do and you want to be able to learn from others about the market – where potential jobs might be, who else to talk to, what are companies doing, etc. However, most people don’t know how to do networking, so in this session, you’ll learn more about the process including some do’s and don’ts.Building your Brand (led by Katie Bethel, Ariel Shonk, and Malissa Miot): The Building your Brand round table will focus on tips and tricks to boost your career! A personal brand is who you are, the values you embrace, and the way in which you express those values. A strong brand stands out in a crowd and every brand has their own goals, skills and a story to tell. This round table will be led by seasoned professionals who have experience in the recruiting process and understand how building your personal brand in your career search can land you closer to your dream job!Next Steps in Your Career (led by Marie Maloney and Steve Burrows): Next steps in a career can be uncertain and complex whether it be to move up in an organization or look to another. It’s important to understand the critical steps necessary to move successfully through the process.
