Black Warrior Riverkeeper’s mission is to protect and restore the Black Warrior River and its tributaries. We are a citizen-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting clean water for the sake of public health, recreation, and wildlife habitat throughout our patrol area, the Black Warrior River watershed.

New Life Worship Center COG

B﻿lack Warrior Riverkeeper is partnering with Sierra Club Alabama for an April Fools' Day cleanup and learning event! Charline Whyte, with Sierra Club, and Katie Fagan, with Black Warrior Riverkeeper, will give a short presentation about Plant Miller and the importance of keeping our watershed clean. Following the presentation, we will clean up along the Locust Fork. Lunch will be provided.Meeting Point: New Life Worship Center COG, 6605 W Jefferson Rd, West Jefferson, AL 35130*From there, we will caravan to Plant Miller then to the cleanup locationCleanup Location: around Atwood Cemetery | 2500 Parsons Loop Rd, Mulga, AL 35118Time: 9 am to 1 pm What we encourage volunteers to wear/bring:1. Comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting a little wet or dirty (preferably long pants)2. Closed-toed shoes3. Water4. Sun protection (hats, sunglasses, sunscreen)What we will provide:1. Garbage bags2. Gloves &amp; Litter Pickers3﻿. Lunch
