San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade - APAPA/CLUSA Float

Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association (APAPA) is a non-profit, non-partisan and grassroots organization founded in 2001 by a pioneering group of fellow civic-minded friends and community leaders. APAPA was established with the primary mission of empowering Asian and Pacific Islander (API) Americans in civic and public affairs through education, active participation, and leadership development. To accomplish this objective, APAPA developed voter registration events, internships, scholarships, voter education forums. Along with leadership, mentoring, and networking programs designed specifically for the education, betterment, and advancement of the API community.Civic Leadership USA  (CLUSA) is a non-profit organization that aims to empower and organize Asian American communities in order to create a national network of civic-minded organizations and leaders.

This is a private event and it is by invitation only.
On behalf of the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association - Bay Area Region (APAPA-BAR), we request the honor of your presence and participation in the float at the Annual Southwest Airlines Chinese New Year Festival and Parade. On Saturday, February 23, 2019, Southwest Airlines will host the Chinese New Year Festival and Parade, the largest celebration of its kind in the world. Annually, the event is watched by millions of people, either along the parade route or by television via KTVU/Fox 2, KTSF Channel 26 and KICU-TV 36. A San Francisco tradition, the parade welcomes a variety of groups to join the march and affords the opportunity to promote APIA public officials, community partners, and civic leaders. APAPA-BAR is honored to participate in the float at the parade and continue our efforts to inspire, engage and empower our APIA community.  The theme of our float is From Railroad Workers to Civic Leaders.  A special designed complimentary jacket will be provided to wear at the parade.
