Black Warrior Riverkeeper’s mission is to protect and restore the Black Warrior River and its tributaries. We are a citizen-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting clean water for the sake of public health, recreation, and wildlife habitat throughout our patrol area, the Black Warrior River watershed.

Black Warrior Riverkeeper is teaming up with District 1 to help clean up our community and our watershed!

Huffman Middle School

Join us for a day of service on Saturday, July 15th, 2023. Meeting point: Huffman Middle SchoolTime: We will be meeting from 8 to 10am, but volunteers are not required to come for the entire duration of the event.Safety: This event will take place along the roadside in an area that may not have sidewalks, so please only sign up if you feel comfortable with this. ALL children must be accompanied by an adult. What we encourage volunteers to wear/bring:1. Comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting a little wet or dirty (preferably long pants)2. Closed-toed shoes3. Water4. Sun protection (hats, sunglasses, sunscreen)What we will provide:1. Garbage bags2. Gloves &amp; Litter Pickers
