<h3>As South Kingstown proudly celebrates its 300th anniversary in 2023, it seems appropriate and timely to ask:</h3><h2>“What about the next 300 years?”</h2><h3>Please join us for a highly interactive community forum, during which we will learn about and seek solutions to three of the most urgent issues confronting our community today and in the years ahead:</h3><h3>✓	Composting and Waste Management </h3><h3>✓	Energy Efficiency and the Transition to Renewable Energy</h3><h3>✓	Water Conservation</h3><h3>This forum will combine brief  presentations on these topics with small group discussions. Participants will generate, share, and document ideas and strategies towards tangible solutions at the individual and municipal level.</h3><h3>Hosted by members of the South Kingstown Sustainability Committee, Conservation Commission, Planning Board, and 300th Anniversary Planning Committee. This event is free and open to the public.</h3><h3><strong>M﻿eet our presenters:</strong></h3>

<h3><strong>Madison Burke-Hindle </strong>is the Education and Outreach Manager for Rhode Island Resource Recovery which manages the state’s Central Landfill and Materials Recycling Facility. Madison is responsible for developing statewide programs on waste reduction, reuse, recycling, composting and proper disposal which are provided at no cost to RI schools, community groups and organizations. She enjoys connecting with Rhode Islanders to discuss what happens to their stuff when they are done with it and recently launched RI’s new waste sorting game titled “<a href="http://rhodeislandresource.recycle.game/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ready, Set, Sort!</a>” which is a fun and interactive way for residents of all ages to learn how to dispose of their waste properly. In her spare time, Madison can be found outside hiking and visiting local beaches.</h3><h3><strong>Steven Chybowski </strong>is a chief of program development with the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources. He has served in this role since 2021, where he oversees a range of initiatives including energy efficiency program planning, building decarbonization, the Energy Efficiency and Resource Management Council, and the Green Buildings Advisory Committee. Prior to this role, he worked with Indiana University’s Environmental Resilience Institute, assisting local governments pursuing environmental sustainability and resilience initiatives. He holds a B.A. from Michigan State University in international relations and an M.P.A. from Indiana University.</h3><h3><strong>Elizabeth Scott </strong>works as a consultant with the Southeast New England Program (SNEP) Network, a collaborative professional partnership providing stormwater and watershed management, ecological restoration, and financing assistance to communities and organizations across Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.  Elizabeth has over 30 years’ experience as a water resources professional, previously serving as Deputy Chief in the RI Department of Environmental Management’s Office of Water Resources.  During her tenure with RIDEM, she developed and managed various programs and contributed to the development of statewide water resource policies, guidance documents, regulations, planning documents, and technical studies including over 30 TMDL (Total Maximum Daily Load) reports. Elizabeth received a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources from Cornell University, and Master of Arts in Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island.</h3>
