Minns Lectures, Spring 2019: American Populism and Unitarian Universalism

The Minns Lectures Committee of First Church Boston and King’s Chapel sponsors an annual series of lectures by UU ministers on religious topics of historical importance and contemporary relevance. For its spring 2019 series, the Minns Lectures Committee hosted Rev. Dr. Colin Bossen, who challenged us to ask how Unitarian Universalists can respond to populism and white supremacy in the age of Trump. Video  for these lectures and for earlier ones, along with additional details on the lectures, can be found at www.MinnsLectures.org. The committee welcomes innovative proposals for lectures in 2021 and beyond. Guidelines on proposal submissions and a short history of this unique lecture series are also posted on the website.

Friday, April 26, 6:30 pm: "A Tale of Two Kingdoms," lecture by Rev. Carl Scovel, minister emeritus of King's Chapel, in memory of Charles Perry, late member of King's Chapel and the Minns Lectureship Committee King's Chapel Parish House, 64 Beacon Street, Boston 
Saturday, April 27, 6:30 pm: "The Populist Imagination: A White Man’s Republic?" opening lecture by Rev. Dr. Colin Bossen, with responses by Rev. Danielle DiBona and  Dr. Wendy Salkin First Church Boston, 66 Marlborough Street, Boston
Two additional lectures are planned for this series, taking place later in the spring, in San Francisco, CA, and at the UU General Assembly in Spokane, WA.
